musician // composer

With a diverse background of music-making and influences, Joshua’s compositions draw inspiration from the emotion-inducing techniques found in film music, a genre which captured his interest from an early age. His music seeks to reproduce the subtle, storytelling abilities of music, transporting his listeners to another time and place.

Gifted his first piano by his parents due to a rather unusual obsession with ‘pushing buttons’, Joshua’s interest in keyboard instruments quickly evolved to include pipe organ and percussion studies.

With a constant underpinning of storytelling, Joshua draws on a wealth of experience in group music-making, which exposed him to the different styles of music evident in his compositional style and orchestration techniques. Joshua has performed in marching and jazz bands, rock groups, and worship ensembles, and his music reflects the unique attributes and characteristics of these genre to create a broad and distinct sound.
